Our Story
Worknected was born from Veronika’s personal experience as a conservation student navigating the challenges of securing work while pursuing her passion. Despite freelancing with private firms and working on projects at renowned institutions like the Royal Academy of Arts, she often struggled to find opportunities in time and dreamed of a platform that could centralise conservation roles.
As her career progressed to roles at the Ashmolean Museum and Birmingham Museums Trust, and later to running her own conservation business, she realised the same challenges persisted for both job seekers and employers. Short-term roles and skilled hands often slipped through the cracks due to a lack of accessible information.
Driven by this gap, Veronika founded Worknected — a recruitment platform dedicated to connecting conservators with opportunities. Launched in February 2024, it provides a simple, centralised system for posting and accessing conservation jobs, ensuring no opportunity is missed.
Veronika Vlková
Founder & Director
Veronika Vlková ACR is an accredited conservator and a Director of Mareva Conservation Ltd. Her company specialises in conservation of works of art, sculptures, monuments, memorials and historic buildings providing services and consultancy work for owners of private collections, museums, galleries, institutions, churches, cathedrals as well as local councils among others. Prior to setting up her own business, Veronika worked on prominent collections of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and Birmingham Museums Trust. Since 2010, Veronika has been giving lectures to post-graduate students in Conservation of the Built Environment at Birmingham City University on Conservation of Stone in Practice.
